We are seeking an experienced and reliable Livestock Hauler to transport cattle safely and efficiently between Canada and the United States. This position requires strong driving skills, knowledge of livestock handling, and the ability to manage cross-border documentation and regulations.
- Transport cattle using specialized livestock trailers across provincial and international routes
- Safely load and unload animals while minimizing stress and injury
- Monitor animal condition throughout transport
- Complete required documentation, including bills of lading and health certificates
- Comply with cross-border regulations and inspections (CFIA/USDA requirements)
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and trailer
- Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity standards (washing and disinfecting trailers)
- Adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) and electronic logging requirements
- Valid AZ (Ontario) / Class 1 driver’s license
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience (livestock experience preferred)
- Valid passport; FAST card considered an asset
- Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR
- Knowledge of livestock handling and animal welfare practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Physically capable of handling loading/unloading tasks
- Competitive pay: $0.55–$0.75 per mile or percentage-based pay
- Average annual earnings: $70,000 – $100,000+
